David Wallin presented as an invited Faculty Panelist at the Canadian Bar Association’s “CBA West” 2 day seminar on “Expert Opinion Evidence in Civil Litigation” at the Lakeside Resort in beautiful Penticton, B.C., on April 26, 2019.

David presented before a gathering of Alberta and British Columbia civil and criminal lawyers on the topic of the use of expert evidence from a bodily injury perspective. David discussed the significance of the 2017 Supreme Court of Canada decision of Saadati v. Moorhead in regard to the use of expert evidence at trial, in his presentation entitled “Has the Role of Experts Changed post-Saadati?; A Bodily Injury Perspective”.

A few of the topics David discussed at the conference included a case commentary and discussion of the Saadati v. Moorhead case; expert witnesses role; identifying strategic and tactical issues from the outset; what does the Court require and expect; and the use of mental health experts at trial post-Saadati.
